There are 2 major breed standards in the Golden Retriever world – one is the AKC and in the U.S. registry English Cream Goldens are registered as Golden Retrievers. However, in the KC the standard “English Cream Golden Retrievers” is the most common name given to the light colored European Goldens. The European Golden Retriever is a Golden Retriever with a boxier head and body, and light in color.
