If that is approved, an in-person interview is scheduled to allow clients to see Karens home and allow questions to be answered for both parties. The buyers name is then added to the waiting list. A deposit must be paid to be added to the list. Deposits are refundable until the puppies are born. A contract must be filled out and signed. Be sure to check out the specifics of the contract on their website. Puppies are sold on a limited AKC registration meaning the buyer can not breed the puppy in the future. Our puppies are priced at around $3500. Occasionally there is some fluctuation, determined by the parent’s clearances and titles. The deposit amount is $300 non-refundable. We are not a kennel and do not have employees. Our puppies are raised in our home and cared for devoutly, round the clock. We socialize our puppies extensively and you will find our puppies temperament outstanding!
If you do not find the puppy you are looking for in a particular litter, the deposit is forwarded to the next litter. The same is true if the litter is smaller than expected. We recommend placing a deposit to join our wait list, even if the current litter may be spoken for. It is quite common for a spot to open up, due to a client that wishes to wait for a litter with different timing. The deposit may be placed via Paypal . Checks or Money Orders for Deposit are accepted if the client does not have Paypal. The remaining balance is due at pickup time in CASH OR PAYPAL/VENMO . All puppies are sold on a limited AKC registration meaning they can not be used for breeding by their new owners. All puppies are warrantied until 12 months of age for hip and elbow dysplasia and genetic heart and eye diseases. Stoney Ridge has been in business since 2012. Their website does not talk much about the buying process, but they do have a contact form on their website for questions. The current listing price of puppies is $3000 with a $300 deposit. Golden retrievers may sound like a single breed, but theyre split into two subtypes: American and English. American goldens and English goldens descended from English lines when imported from Canada, but the breed evolved and developed differently in America and Europe.
For example, English cream golden retrievers have a lighter, more white coat, a broader head, a stockier build, and a longer lifespan than their American counterparts. American golden retrievers are also more energetic and excitable than English cream golden retrievers.
But when did the golden retriever divide into American and English? You can trace it back to the late 1800s, after the labrador retriever was brought to Europe and began its import to the United States. Todays English cream golden retrievers are descendants of the gun dogs bred by Lord Tweedmouth in Scotland.
In 1868, Lord Tweedmouth mated a yellow wavy-coated retriever named Nous with a Tweed Water spaniel named Belle. Lord Tweedmouths goal was to produce a more robust dog than any other retriever that would be gentle and trainable.
In 1903, English cream golden retrievers were accepted for registration by The Kennel Club, but under the name Flat Coats: Golden. A few years later in 1911, they were officially recognized as part of the Retriever family and then were given its full name: the Golden Retriever.
