Where Did The Golden Retriever Start Out
Sir Dudley Marjoribanks of Scotland became a wealthy property owner in 1881, launching him into the aristocracy. He gained the title of Baron or Lord Tweedmouth shortly thereafter. That title was crucial to the proliferation of the Golden Retriever. In 1886, Lord Tweedmouth bought a yellow wavy-coated retriever from a tradesman. A throwback yellow Flat-Coated Retriever, it is a wonder Nouns did not get culled at birth. It was not fashionable to hunt with an inferior yellow dog in 1800s Scotland. Because he belonged to the class of privilege Lord Tweedmouth changed all that.
Golden Retrievers for sale all trace their ancestry to three dogs Lord Tweedmouth got from the cross between Nouns and a Tweed Water Spaniel. He expanded the Flat-Coated Retrievers ability to work on land and in the water. Subsequently, the Golden Retriever would receive influential bloodlines from Bloodhounds, Irish Setters, Red and White Setters, and various retrievers. The Kennel Club recognized the Golden Retriever in 1911. Shortly thereafter, Goldens started spreading into the US and Canada. The AKC recognized the breed in 1925.

Here at Wisteria Goldens we start all our English Cream Golden Retriever puppies on a routine to give them a great foundational start for continued training.
Our English Golden puppies that are 8 weeks and younger have a schedule which includes feeding, playtime, and snuggles & cuddles time. They are introduced to crate training, and should be able to spend most of the night in the crate within the first week, after acclimating to their new home. *Please note, puppies are not sleeping all night in the crate, unless in our training program. Our English Golden puppies that are over 8 weeks of age continue their training by entering our Puppy Academy Program.
Puppy coats range from pure cream to a touch of gold, all the way to having gold dusting throughout their coat. They are friendly, affectionate, intelligent, and have a wonderful calm, mellow personalities. Our English Cream puppies come in a variety of sizes, build, and color something for everyone! We believe in finding that perfect puppy for you!
All our adults come from Champion and/or International Champion bloodlines. We carefully chose our dogs we started our breeding program with and imported many of our adults to be able to provide the best quality puppy for families. We now raise our own females and import all our males to keep our lines clean.

English Cream Golden Retriever Puppies Coat & Coat Care
Retrievers are a double coated breed. The water-resistant, slightly wavy topcoat and the soft undercoat combine to keep them cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The undercoat sheds heavily in the fall and spring. English Creams have mild feathering on the back of their forelegs and heavier feathering on the front of their necks, back of their thighs, and on the bottom of their tails. Some owners trim the feathering, while others leave it long.
Before adopting one of our English Cream Golden Retriever puppies for sale, keep in mind that this breed is moderate-high shedding. With a medium-long coat thats especially long around the ears you can expect dog hair to stick to clothing, furniture and a range of other surfaces. Because of the length of your dogs fur, youll need to brush your pup fairly often. Daily is ideal, with a minimum of three to four times a week.

The Temperament Of The Golden Is Legendary
Goldens, like any dog breed, need socialization to bring out the best in their temperaments. Golden Retrievers as gun dogs should be trustworthy and unflappable. They are also affectionate, intelligent, responsive and obedient, sensitive, good-natured, and patient. The closest anyone has to a complaint about the Golden is its rambunctiousness that can last from early puppyhood to the age of two or three years old.
Other Dogs
Although some family lines can show dog aggression, most Goldens are great with other pets. Golden Retrievers are a common sight at dog parks romping with other dogs. Even as large as they are, Goldens commonly befriend cats. Despite their sporting background, Golden Retrievers have a low prey drive compared to many other breeds.
Kids
Goldens have an uncanny instinct to be gentle and protective of small children. However, they are large and energetic when they are puppies. Young Golden Retrievers can be hazardous to toddlers and small kids by accidentally knocking young ones down. As your dog matures, it will become more careful.
Strangers
Like Labs, Goldens do not know a stranger. They may bark to announce the arrival of a guest, but Golden Retrievers warm up to a kind word or friendly pats with a return of affection and enthusiasm.
Physical Appearance Of Golden Retriever For Sale
Under its kind eyes and beautiful coat, the Golden Retriever is an athlete. Its body should be compact, balanced, and powerful, only slightly longer than tall. The limbs are sturdy and strong, neither too long nor too short. You should be able to identify a Golden by its head alone. The skull is broad between the ears with wideset dark eyes and a distinct stop. Unlike some other breeds with a broad head, Golden Retrievers do not have prominent cheekbones. The ears are fairly small and lay flat against the head. Goldens have a level back, a slightly slanted croup, strong shoulders and rear, and a deep and broad chest. The tail is set neither high nor low but reflects the dogs jolly mood. A tail that curls over the back are incorrect.

All our English Cream Golden Retrievers are part of our family and live with us inside, not in a kennel. Ah, the English Cream Golden Retriever, also known as the striking ivory white counterpart to the traditional Goldens we all know and love. Another name for these elegant beauties is, Rare White European Retrievers.
And with a name like that, it comes as no surprise that these dogs are so sought after!
Basically, an English Cream is a subtype of the Golden Retriever breedmore specifically a variation of the British Golden. English Cream Goldens gained their namesake as a result of, well, their elegant pale coats, which can range in color from a delicate cream shade to white.
