When our children were growing up, they always asked for a puppy – my husband was on board as well. Our daughter, Molly, was a figure skater and our other daughter, Emma, was a dancer. Our lives were incredibly busy so I didn’t think we could give a puppy the time and love he or she would deserve. My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2014 and now that our girls are grown, I thought a dog would be a good companion for him.
