A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Welcome to 7-L Farms! Our reputation is very important to us, and we do everything we can to ensure happy, healthy, socialized, and well-rounded puppies. We have been breeding Golden Retrievers since 2013, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels since 2021, and Mini Goldens since 2022. We do our best to help match potential puppy parents with a puppy that fits their personality and lifestyle. We will not sell a puppy to someone if we feel they are not “up to the challenge” of owning a new puppy. We are not a Kennel or a Puppy Mill, we have the best interest of the puppy in mind and want to see our dogs go on to live long, healthy, happy lives with their Forever Families.
At 7-L Farms all of our puppies are born in our house, and have been raised as part of our family, socialized with kids, dogs, seniors, etc. We strive to provide our new puppy parents with a seamless transition into puppy parenthood. All puppies come with their first set of shots, dewormed multiple times, thorough vet examination, spay/neuter contract, and a two-year health guarantee for life-threatening, hereditary diseases, and a lifetime of support from us. Golden Retrievers will come with AKC Limited registration, and Cavaliers will come with CKC registration.

Are These Dogs Good For Families
As previously stated, this dog breed is the perfect pet for a large, boisterous, active family. They are great with children and will have no problem getting out in the front yard getting dirty with the best of the lot. Because they are so sweet and loving, this dog is more patient being with smaller children than most dog breeds are.
While this dog can be a companion to one person, its best to work out of your home or take the dog with you wherever you go, as they do have a needy streak and want to be around their people constantly.

Does This Breed Get Along With Other Pets
This breed of dog is social and can co-exist peacefully with other types of animals in a home. They do, however, have a hunting streak from their ancestors, and while that drive isnt very high, they could chase smaller animals. While this breed is in no way aggressive, they will be very protective of their family, so if they feel youre in danger from an angry person or an aggressive animal, their instinct will be to protect.

A Golden Cocker Retriever will do just fine with children and other pets you may have in the house. However, its best to socialize your dog as early as puppyhood to avoid getting problems in adulthood when it comes to discipline and obedience. Since the dog is still from the hunting class, its not a good pet for homes with birds or rodents.
This mixed breed is going to do well with kids if you are looking for a family pet. As long as they receive proper training respect from all members of the family, your Golden Cocker Retriever will grow to be a loving companion.

Dont Mistake It For A Goldendoodle
Goldendoodle
During my research, I noticed a lot of people were curious about the Golden Cocker Retrievers relationship to the Goldendoodle.
In case you didnt notice, these are not the same breeds, although they do have the Golden Retriever genes in common.
Like the mini Golden Cocker Retriever, theres also a mini Goldendoodle.
The height of a standard Goldendoodle reaches 20 inches .
The weight ranges from 50 90 pounds .
If more Cocker Spaniel genes are mixed in, the Golden Cocker Retriever will be smaller than the Goldendoodle.
Additionally, the coat of a Goldendoodle will be much curlier than the Golden Cocker Retriever thanks to its Poodle parent breed.
Thats how you can easily tell them apart.
Thanks to the Poodle genes, a mini and standard Goldendoodle have a good chance to be hypoallergenic.
Its a great option for owners with allergies or who want a clean house with minimal shedding.

When it comes to grooming, the Golden Cocker Retrievers coat is quite dense so it is important to brush it daily to avoid mats and tangles. Monthly grooming via a dog salon is also a good practice to keep their luscious coat attractive. They are average shedders so you may need some effort when it comes to coat maintenance.
In the summer, always give your Golden Cocker sufficient water and keep them indoors to avoid exhaustion. The same goes for the cold months keep them toasty with a dog coat.

How About Feeding Miniature Golden Retrievers
There is no big difference compared to the regular golden retrievers.
As miniature golden retrievers need high protein food that will help to keep their bones and joints strong.
You need to keep in mind that they are highly active dogs and we need to feed them accordingly.
The ideal meal can be 2.5 cups of dog food daily, divided between two meals spaced throughout the day.
We also hear that the small mini golden retrievers have some digestive issues. Here you can find our recommendations:

What About The Mini Goldens Temperament
Golden Retrievers are known for their loving loyalty, friendly character, and calm temperaments the best breeders will be able to create these characteristics in a Miniature Golden Retriever too.
Just like standard Goldens, Miniatures make great family pets and get along well with children.
Just like most dogs, they love attention in all its forms, whether its playing fetch, some scratches behind the ears or going for a long walk.
They do need plenty of exercise to manage their weight and keep them mentally and physically stimulated.
Minis are also easy to train and socialize if you put in the time and effort required.
Like their larger counterparts, Miniature Goldens are prone to the odd bark to alert their family to new noises or situations.
When the doorbell rings, youll know about it if theres a Mini in the house! As such, they make great guard dogs.
Essentially, Mini Goldens possess all the temperamental characteristics of a normal Golden Retriever.
Breeders that use Cocker Spaniels to create Miniature Golden Retrievers do invite more risk of bringing forth undesirable characteristics that are not seen in normal Goldens.
Some breeders have commented that Mini Goldens with some Cocker Spaniel parentage can be more prone to nipping and biting.
This will make your dog less family friendly and less suitable to be around children. Wed advise avoiding breeders that use Cocker Spaniels to create their Minis.
