Short answer is yes.
Golden Retrievers have a gorgeous, golden double coat that does not need much daily care, but weekly brushing is wise when they shed.Brush your Golden’s coat and trim the feet, heels, and ears.
You can groom your Golden at any good salon in Flagstaff, AZ, but you can also groom them yourself! Here are some tips and recommendations to get you started.
Begin grooming your Golden Retriever when it is still a puppy and take care of the early stages.
Your pup is too young to need grooming, but this way, they can get used to the brush and feel at ease with you touching and petting them. For example, you can keep an eye on their teeth by opening their mouth.
Dog Groomers use a set of different tools and techniques to groom your golden retriever. These approaches will make you and your companion happy and give your pet a great experience.
Your local grooming salon will also be thankful that your pup allows people to touch them if you decide to take your dog to the groomer!
Some dogs are really into baths, brushes & grooming – they LOVE the attention.

Nira Guide Dog For The Blind Retired
Nira was the first Guide Dog puppy that we raised for Guide Dogs for the Blind. She was a female Yellow Lab/Golden Retriever mix and was born on September 13, 2012.
During her time with us, Nira was an exceptionally smart dog, learning the basic training at a very fast pace. She was also just a wonderful, sweet, and gentle natured animal.
Nira graduated from Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, California and was presented to Robert Brown as his new guide dog. She was his constant companion and faithful guide until her retirement. Now Nira is enjoying life as Buster and Donna Brownâs âpetâ.

Ive known Dutch for years, and for all these years, hes acted so joyous to see me, and so much like a puppy. When I see Dutch, I know whatever mood Im in, Ill be happier when he leaves.
They say all Golden Retrievers are like this, and Ill admit, they are probably right. I have many clients who own them, and their pet photography sessions are just as bright and fun. But Dutch, well, his love is BIG and he loves to spread joy.
Once a year, Flagstaff erupts in blooms with sunflowers. From year to year, we never know where they will bloom, as it seems that Mother Nature loves to surprise us with new locations. When I photographed Dutch, it was Buffalo Park that was in bloom. I had fun playing in the park with Dutch and his human, Audra. That smile will keep my spirits high for days.

Piano Guide Dog For The Blind Puppy In Training
Piano is our current and fourth guide dog puppy. She is a black female Labrador, born on 4/10/2019.
We received Piano when she was 11 weeks old and she started to impress from the very beginning. We had been told she was âa pistolâ on the ride over from San Rafael so be ready. But, on the drive from Phoenix back to Flagstaff, she settled in very quickly and was a dream.
Piano just continues to amaze and impress both Heidi and me. She learns everything so quickly and remembers it all so well.
Piano has taken to our other dog, Gordy, like we could never have imagined. She sleeps right next to him in the same bed during the day, has to have the same toy he has, and loves playing with him.
One of our club members told us , âPiano is a trainers dreamâ.
