So What Happens After You Give Your Dog To Grrmf

Get To Know us A Little Better
  • Initially all incoming dogs go to our veterinarians office for a full exam. After finishing their veterinary workup, our dogs are immediately placed in a private foster home with a loving family that will care for him/her while an adoption is being arranged. We do not keep our dogs in kennels. We do not allow surrendering owners to foster their dogs until adoption because we need to assess their temperament and health prior to adoption.
  • GRRMF will take care of your dog until it is adopted no matter how long it takes to find a suitable home. We do not euthanize dogs unless there is a severe health issue and our veterinarian advises us to do so in order to provide humane treatment for our dog. No dog is ever euthanized because it is taking too long to find them a new home.
  • Our confidentiality policy requires that we keep the identity of the new home private. We can, however, provide you information about how your dog is doing upon request.

Our program is made possible through adoption fees and donations. Adoption fees do not cover nearly all our costs for each dog. We realize that most families giving up dogs are not in a position to make a donation to help, so we do not require any donation when you surrender a dog to us. If you are in a financial position that allows you to make a donation that is a generous gesture. All donations are tax deductible.

Thank you for trusting us to take care of your beloved pet. If you have any questions, please contact us at .

Thank you,

Golden Retriever Rescue Florida: Emerald Coast Golden Retriever Rescue

If you are searching for a Golden Retriever Rescue in Florida, visit Emerald Coast Golden Retriever Rescue. This is a volunteer-run organization located on Floridas Gulf coast. Their main goal is to find a good home for each Golden who has been abandoned, neglected or abused, or just given up on. This rescue is located in Panama City, Fl. As with other rescues, you can not only help by adopting one of their dogs but also volunteer and/ or foster a dog. Foster homes, true backbones of any rescue, are always required to host new dogs. As a foster owner, you would offer your home for a dog for possibly several weeks until it finds a permanent home.

You could also volunteer by helping with dog transportation which will include taking the dog to and from the vet, pick up surrender animals or bring the dog to the new owner.

Another area you could help with would be home inspections. You could also help in various administrative tasks, social media, fundraising, work with the public and many other avenues. These are all great ways to get involved with the breed before or alongside with actually adapting your Golden.

Golden Retriever Rescue Of Mid Florida

Since 1991, Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid Florida has rescued 4,049 goldens, from puppies to seniors. This rescue, located in Goldenrod, Floria is 100% donor-supported. Any golden that is in their care comes from animal shelter surrender, strays, and in most cases, turned in by their owners. Due to the community support, each golden is evaluated for good health and temperament. They are then examined by a vet and get all their vaccines.

Although they have a higher adoption fee, its all for a good reason and extra money supports other dogs in their care. GRRMF takes in dogs that other groups would usually turn away due to expensive medical care or injuries. After adopting, there is a contract to sign that ensures the dog will always have the proper care. Follow-up communication is extremely important to this organization and if at any time the owner can no longer give care, the dog must be returned back.
