We are a small family-oriented hobby breeder located on the eastern plains of Colorado. We have beautiful AKC English Cream Golden Retrievers. All our English Cream Golden Retrievers are part of our family and live with us inside, not in a kennel. Our English Cream Golden Retrievers have plenty of room to play and run when they are enjoying a romp or fetching a new stick on our 20 acres of property. Our Golden Retriever puppies are well socialized, loved and will start training before going to their forever home. I believe a Golden is at her/ his best when they have a job to do. All our Golden Retrievers compete in competitive Conformation, Agility, and Obedience events. I believe the time we spend with our Golden Retrievers teaching and training them to compete in these events strengthens the bond that we share, as well as keeping our dogs in top condition mentally and physically.
We have only a few litters a year, so most puppies are sold before they are born. Reserving a puppy from planned litters is recommended. Red-Dawn is an AKC Breeder Of Merit Kennel, since 2003. Coming up! We have a spring litter in the works. We again bred Snowflake and Brady for a 2020 Spring litter. Their 2019 litter was a big hit and the litter turned out fantastic. Many puppies are in training to be a Service Dogs. The puppies parents, Brady & Snowflake are AKC registered English Cream Golden Retrievers. Both parents are conformation champions. Brady also won BEST IN SHOW and Snowflake won RESERVE BEST IN SHOW. We take great pride that all our dogs are OFA certified for Hips, Elbows, Patella, Heart and Eyes. All Red-Dawn parent dogs are fully DNA tested as well.

Retrievers are a double coated breed. The water-resistant, slightly wavy topcoat and the soft undercoat combine to keep them cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The undercoat sheds heavily in the fall and spring. English Creams have mild feathering on the back of their forelegs and heavier feathering on the front of their necks, back of their thighs, and on the bottom of their tails. Some owners trim the feathering, while others leave it long.

Food: We suggest feeding your baby 3 times per day . All babies are different . Our babies are all eating Purina Pro Plan Puppy Lamb & Rice. Please keep your baby on this food. It is important to really watch what your baby is eating at this age. For the first month, please only feed your baby his or her food . After about a month you can gradually begin adding our recomendedtreats to their diet as long as their bellies are ready. Do not change your babies food, I can not stress this enough.

A Brief History On English Cream Golden Retrievers
Golden retrievers may sound like a single breed, but theyre split into two subtypes: American and English. American goldens and English goldens descended from English lines when imported from Canada, but the breed evolved and developed differently in America and Europe.
For example, English cream golden retrievers have a lighter, more white coat, a broader head, a stockier build, and a longer lifespan than their American counterparts. American golden retrievers are also more energetic and excitable than English cream golden retrievers.
But when did the golden retriever divide into American and English? You can trace it back to the late 1800s, after the labrador retriever was brought to Europe and began its import to the United States. Todays English cream golden retrievers are descendants of the gun dogs bred by Lord Tweedmouth in Scotland.
In 1868, Lord Tweedmouth mated a yellow wavy-coated retriever named Nous with a Tweed Water spaniel named Belle. Lord Tweedmouths goal was to produce a more robust dog than any other retriever that would be gentle and trainable.
In 1903, English cream golden retrievers were accepted for registration by The Kennel Club, but under the name Flat Coats: Golden. A few years later in 1911, they were officially recognized as part of the Retriever family and then were given its full name: the Golden Retriever.

Exercise & Living Conditions
The English Cream Golden Retriever is less boisterous than his American counterpart, but this does not mean he needs any less exercise. Being a traditional working breed, he needs a lot of exercise. Expect to spend at least 1 hour every day vigorously exercising the English Cream, come rain or shine. If you cant do this, expect your English Cream Retriever to take out his energy on your possessions.
In between exercise sessions, he will need a lot of interactive playtime too. The Golden Retriever is the 4th most intelligent dog breed, meaning they need mental stimulation. Be sure to invest in plenty of toys for him to play with. Or design DIY brain games that you can both play, such as find the ball under the cup.
The English Cream Golden Retriever needs to live with an active family who can guarantee him his exercise needs and keep his intelligent mind occupied. Because of this, and the fact that he is a needy dog who craves the company of his humans, he needs a family that can spend most of their time with him.
Apartment living is not going to work for the English Cream. He needs a larger home with access to his own yard that he can roam and chill in til his hearts content. Because he is an outdoorsy dog breed, he will get cabin fever very quickly.
