Meet The Parents: The Parents Breed History:
Parent 1: A brief history of the Golden Retriever parent a purebred dog
The Golden Retriever originated in Scotland, at the end of the 18th Century.
In 1868, Lord Tweedmouth, a British Aristocrat, wanted a loyal and hard-working gundog to retrieve waterfowl while hunting on his estate in Scotland. So he crossed a wavy-coated yellow retriever with a Tweed Water Spaniel and produced 3 Golden-coloured Retriever puppies.
Fact: the Tweed Water Spaniel is now an extinct dog breed.
Lord Tweedmouth mixed this new breed Retriever with an Irish Setter dog to breed the recognized Golden Retriever dog breed.
In 1903, the Golden Retriever dog breed was registered by the UK Kennel Club, and they quickly became popular as family pets and show dogs.
The Golden Retriever breed was registered by the American Kennel Club in 1925 and now ranks as the 3rd most popular dog breed in the United States.

What To Expect From A Goldador
As we know, a Goldador is a mix between a purebred Golden Retriever and a purebred Labrador Retriever.
Both parent breeds are gentle, friendly, loyal, and highly trainable. So, a Golden Retriever Lab mix is likely to be the same.
Youre also not likely to find a better working dog, for many roles. Both Goldens and Labs are known for their excellence in hunting, therapy, and service work.
With mixed breeds, you can never be certain what physical traits or temperament characteristics your dog will inherit from which parent.
There are no guarantees as to how your dog will turn out.
But, in the case of the Golden Retriever Lab mix, both parent breeds are quite similar in size, appearance, and personality. So there may be fewer variations for this particular mix.

What Does A Golden Retriever Lab Mix Look Like
There is no telling whether a Goldador will take more after their Labrador retriever or golden retriever parent. However, it is more likely that they will have the squarer face of a Lab rather than the slightly longer face of a Golden.
Goldadors also tend to have lean and athletic yet sturdy bodies. Floppy ears and brown eyes are also consistent characteristics.
You can generally expect a Goldador to be golden in color, as the breed is usually achieved by mixing a golden retriever with a yellow Lab.
The Golden Weiner Dogs Personality
Like humans, animals also love to cuddle their loving family members. The Golden Retriever Dachshund mix obtains sweet-spirited nature. They are people lovers and like to spend their time in human company.
Their attitude toward humans, as well as domestic animals, is amazing. However, if you own the same for the first time, must create a fenced yard. Being good with children, the Golen Dox proves them ideal house pets.
Due to a super friendly temperament, the Golden Dox is not suited as an ideal guard dog. Against the nature of dogs, the Golden Weiners welcome strangers than scare them.
Moreover, they are very well with other dogs. However, they are not comfortable with rabbits or cats. The Dachshund dogs look at the smaller animals as easy prey.
Golden Dachshunds or Golden Dox does not bark extraordinary. In extreme cases, they bark only when they feel insecurity, or when danger feels.
The Golden Dox playtime
The Golden Weiner puppies are crazy about the fun time and playing games. They are smart and highly energetic dogs. Therefore, they love to play outdoor games like
- Throw & fetch
They get this nature from their parents. People having a busy schedule feel difficulty managing such game-lover dogs. One must get ready for outdoor playtime.
Due to high energy levels, they need regular exercise for about 60 minutes. In this way, they consume their extra calories and remain in comfort.

Do You Have Allergies Or Asthma
Goldadors tend to shed a lot. This unfortunately makes them a problematic dog for anyone with dog hair allergies because their hair is almost impossible to avoid. If anyone in your home has an allergy, they will not cope well with a Goldador.
Their excessive shedding can also exacerbate asthma. While regular brushing can help manage this, they are best avoided for children with asthma or anyone with very severe asthma.
Feeding A Golden Lab Mix
The ideal diet for a Labrador and golden retriever mix is one that contains lots of proteins, fat, wholesome carbs, and essential vitamins and minerals. You should find high-quality food for large breed dogs and feed your mix two evenly-spaced meals per day and avoid free-feeding.
Please note, Goldadors have enormous appetites and will eat everything that is offered to them, which puts them at risk of obesity. Hence, dont overfeed your dog, and dont give him table scraps if you want to keep them at an ideal weight.

What Does A Black Lab Golden Retriever Mix Look Like
A Goldador with a black Lab parent will usually have a black coat. But, in some instances, puppies may have lighter, or golden coats. Other than their coat color, their traits will vary as much as any other Goldador dog. It will depend which parent they take after the most.
Generally, you will have a medium to large dog. Typically, a Goldador will grow between 21.5 and 24.5 inches tall. They usually weigh between 55 and 80 pounds as adults. Females are often smaller than males. But, to get a better idea of your puppys potential adult size, just take a closer look at their exact parents.
In terms of coat type, this mix will have a double layered coat that sheds all year round, and more heavily during shedding seasons. Their coat may be slightly longer if they take after their Golden Retriever parent, with some feathering around their legs and chest.
Are Black Lab Golden Retriever Mixes Good Family Pets
Most families get on well with a black Lab Golden Retriever mix. But, many dont realise quite how much work these dogs take. Theyre friendly, playful, and very social. But, this amazing temperament wont suit all lifestyles.
A Goldador wont make a good guard dog. They tend to love everyone they meet, especially when socialized and trained from a young age. They also wont do well if left alone for long periods, since they are so human-oriented. These dogs need families that have plenty of time to dedicate, and who can take their dog with them everywhere.

What Is A Goldador
The highly popular Goldador is a designer dog breed that was developed by crossing a purebred golden retriever with a purebred Labrador retriever. Created to be sensitive with a strong work ethic, Goldadors excel at working as guide dogs, service dogs, therapy dogs, search and rescue dogs, and bomb detection dogs.
To understand this mix, lets look at both of its parent breeds first.
Labrador retrievers were originally developed in the UK from fishing dogs imported from Canada. They were bred to retrieve waterfowl, so they are comfortable in the water and love to swim.
Due to their intelligence, trainability, and loyalty, they quickly became popular working dogs, in particular taking on tasks such as disability assistance. They are also one of the most popular household pets in the United States.
Hailing from the Highlands of Scotland, the golden retriever was also bred to retrieve waterfowl. They share many of the same personality traits as Labradors and are intelligent, friendly, and loyal.
In addition to being popular family pets, they have also become popular working dogs, often working in disability assistance. Generally speaking, Goldens tend to be slightly more friendly and personable than Labs, but both are highly sociable and friendly.
When you combine the two, you get a Golden Lab mix an affectionate, patient, and people-loving dog with a strong work ethic.

Socialization Is Proven To Help
Studies into dog behavior have shown that socialization from a young age helps to prevent behavioral issues in older dogs. This includes aggression and fearfulness. So, you should train and socialize your black Goldador mix well from a young age to get the best of their temperament. You should also meet the parent dogs to see what traits your puppy may inherit. If its parents are friendly and keen to meet you, your puppy will often be similar!

What Is A Black Lab Golden Retriever Mix
Its as easy as its name sounds! This dog is simply a puppy with one Golden Retriever parent and one black Labrador Retriever parent.
Since the genes for a black dog coat are dominant, many breeders hope that they will get black Goldador puppies when they breed with a black Labrador parent. But, first generation mixes like this are quite unpredictable. So, theres no real way of knowing exactly what traits puppies will inherit until they arrive. This applies to everything from a dogs appearance and general temperament, to their health and specific care needs. Which is why its so important to choose a reputable breeder that only breeds from the healthiest parent dogs.
