I live on a beautiful acre of land in Weatherford, Texas with 7 Goldens! To say that Im a dog lover, well, thats an understatement. This all started with my first golden, Cooper, back in 2011. I have 2 studs Collins and Jesse that are active. My females are Chloe Callie, and Sadie. I have a forever puppy from Callie that came home due to Liver shunt disease named Hudson. In the games we play with our special family members, TJ earned titles in three field venues. In 2018-2019, she earned QA2, with one placing to spare, by receiving one first and two seconds in Field Trial Qualifying.
In 2020-2021, we entered hunt tests. On consecutive weekends in June 2021, she completed AKC Master Hunter and HRC Hunting Retriever Champion titles.
Our original intent in selecting TJ was to acquire another hunting partner and full time companion with high level intelligence and drive. Her multiple marking talent showed early, and we started training to develop her impressive abilities. But we live and farm in a very rural area with no like-minded people near us for a training group. So almost all training was done by the two of us and two remote release bird/dummy launchers. The lack of a training group had limitations on showing TJ the sights, sounds, and smells of real performance events. It took some patience and persistence and TJ earned all titles with almost never seeing more than one live person in the field for training.

Under its kind eyes and beautiful coat, the Golden Retriever is an athlete. Its body should be compact, balanced, and powerful, only slightly longer than tall. The limbs are sturdy and strong, neither too long nor too short. You should be able to identify a Golden by its head alone. The skull is broad between the ears with wideset dark eyes and a distinct stop. Unlike some other breeds with a broad head, Golden Retrievers do not have prominent cheekbones.
