Types Of Golden Retriever
The Golden Retriever can trace its roots back to the 19th century. A Scottish aristocrat named Lord Tweedmouth founded the breed as a gentlemans hunting dog and retriever. Lord Tweedmouth wanted a dog with a thick double coat, who wouldnt mind the cold Scottish climate. The first litters he bred had a mix of yellow puppies, and puppies in other colors. It appears his decision to focus on breeding all-yellow litters as the breed developed was purely a matter of personal taste!
Goldens were recognized by the United Kingdom Kennel Club in 1911. Around the same time, fans of the breed started taking them to America and Canada. The Canadian Kennel Club recognized the new breed in 1925. And the American Kennel Club followed suit in 1932.

At first we have to say: THERE IS ONLY ONE GOLDEN RETRIEVER BREED GOVERNED BY THE BREED STANDARD.
We could say that there are differences between the colours of the coat. but the breed is always the same!!
Perhaps one of the most well-known breeds of dogs to the trained and untrained eye is the Golden Retriever. With its downward sloping ears and remarkable sun-kissed coat, the Golden Retriever has become the poster dog for dogs all over the world. No matter what your knowledge about dog breeds is, you must have heard about them and you must have loved them. Little amounts up to the level of presitge that the Golden Retrievers hold in light of their position on the hierarchy of breeds.
Goldren Retrievers originated in Scotland. They were named retrievers because of their ability to find and bring back shot game without damage. They were used as gun dogs to bring back hunted waterfowl, ducks for instance, and upland game birds as part of the course of hunting expeditions. They are remarkable in their inner and outer qualities both. With their inherent love of water, they made for good retrievers. They have a penchnat for obedience and learning skills and tricks. Due to their ease in integration with people and their ability to learn skills, they are often used as guide dogs, disability assisntance dogs, search and rescue dogs, detection dogs, and hunting dogs.
Golden Retriever Breeders California Golden Meadows
Golden Meadows is perhaps one of the oldest breeding kennels for Golden Retrievers in the United States since they have been around for more than twenty-five years now.
The dogs they sell all come from top pedigrees and champion bloodlines, which they can prove through the papers they are in possession of. Also, their pups have several health guarantees for common eye, hip, and heart diseases.
Aside from guaranteeing that their Golden Retriever puppies are healthy, Golden Meadows performs Early Neurological Stimulation to develop their pups immune systems and minds. These people socialize their pups very well, so they wont exhibit undesirable behavior as they mature.
Currently, there are many Golden Retrievers from this kennel that serve as service dogs and therapy dogs. At Golden Meadows, they believe that their puppies can be a medicament of some sort to people who need some companionship.
Does this organization also sell puppies that can join conformation shows and other contests? Of course, it does! In fact, most of the pups that come from this place are shown in the conformation shows of the International All Breed Canine Association and the American Kennel Club.

European Golden Retriever Summary
A European Golden Retriever was either born in Europe, or bred from parents imported from Europe. And it matches the UK Kennel Club breed standard more closely than the AKC standard. They are popular at the moment, because cynical breeders have capitalized on the idea that these differences make them rare, or somehow special. All Goldens are special, and have the same potential to be wonderful family pets.
The most important qualities to look for are health testing, parents with great temperaments, and breeders who socialise their puppies from a young age. Maybe one day European vs American Goldens will be distinct and in the same way as English and American Labradors. Watch this space to find out!
Golden Retriever Club Of America
The Golden Retriever Club of America held their National Specialty hosted by the Central Oklahoma Golden Retriever Club on the Groendykes Ranch just out of Enid, Oklahoma. The grounds were excellent for this event with rolling hills, plenty of cover and very good water. The ponds were well groomed for the entries to the water marks and water blinds. The roads were gravel by the main tent that was used by the open judges. The other stakes did not have as good of roads, especially the amateur.

European Golden Retriever Coat Color
A popular idea about European Golden Retrievers is that they come in rare, extra-light colors. In fact weve already looked at the English Cream Golden Retriever in more detail in this article. Lets compare the breed standards again. The UK Kennel Club breed standard, adopted across Europe says coat color is:
Any shade of gold or cream, neither red nor mahogany.
And the AKC standard says it is:
Rich, lustrous golden of various shades.
In fact, as you can see in this striking photo on the Golden Retriever Club of Americas site, Goldens coats come in a broad scale of colors. Its easy to see though, why including the words rich and lustrous in the U.S. breed standard prompted breeders to favor the darkest shades. Whilst in Europe, pale colors are specifically mentioned. So breeders hoping to achieve the best match to the standard and win show titles would err towards light-colored puppies.

European Golden Retriever Temperament
In English and American Labradors, there is a marked difference in temperament. But at the moment this is not so for Golden Retrievers. European Goldens, like Goldens the world over, are the ultimate people dog. They love meeting people, playing with people, and training with people. Not to mention cuddling up to them!
Their love isnt confined to their own family either. Goldens are typically friendly to a fault. There is no one and nothing they wont cover at high speed to say hello to. To get the most of your Goldens temperament, socialize them to lots of different situations while they are still under 12 weeks old, and teach them to greet new people by sitting down for a treat, rather than jumping up!

Similar to the kennel above, Liberty Run Golden Retrievers has been around for quite some time. They have been breeding Golden Retriever pups for twenty-four years, and their goal is to produce calm, intelligent, and healthy dogs.
Out of all reputable Golden Retriever breeders on our list, this one is considered one of a kind. So, why is that? Well, for starters, this kennel is fully licensed, and it is inspected annually by the Carroll County Government and The Humane Society.
Liberty Run Golden Retrievers also does not practice over-breeding, and they only have ten adult canines used for breeding purposes. Sometimes, these dogs reside on one of the family members farms or with a good friend of the kennel.
As for their socialization skills, the kennel boasts of their completely non-aggressive puppies, which are exposed to kids every day. The Goldens at this kennel swim, play, and run regularly alongside several young folds in the facilitys 250-acre area with four ponds. The organization calls this their little secret.
