Kong Puppy Activity Ball Dog Toy

Tug-of-War Battle – American Akita Puppy Versus Old Golden Retriever – Blue Plush Dog Toy

This interactive ball is an ideal toy for puppies because it helps them release their energy. Its a ball that you can fill with treats or kibbles. Your puppy has to roll the ball around to get the food to fall out.

The soft exterior is ideal for puppies and encourages them to paw at the toy. Getting treats or food to fall out of the toy is a fun game, and it teaches your puppy that they have to work to get a reward.

Its a fun first toy for a puppy because it touches your pooch to interact with toys and figure out how to solve a challenge. We recommend this toy because it will help your puppy develop motor skills and will stimulate their intellectual development.

Toys That Promote Activity

Your golden needs to run to release their energy. Introduce toys that encourage your dog to be active to make exercising more fun and exciting.

If you own more than one golden retriever, your pups are going to love playing with tug toys. A ball or soft toy will often become a pretext for a fun chasing game.

Toys like balls, Frisbees, and even chew toys can be used to play fetch. Let your dog pick which toys they want to play fetch with.

Usa Bones & Chews Cotton Rope With Bones Dog Toy

Made In The USA

USA Bones & Chews created a real winner when they combined bones and knotted rope into one toy. For active Goldens who love to chew and tug, this toy is a true gem.

The rope is a cotton blend, and they treat the bones to minimize the risk of splintering. Both the rope and bone support a healthy mouth for your Golden, and you dont have to worry about chemicals or artificial additives.

Like other dog toys, these arent indestructible, but several reviewers commend the durability. The company also notes that they arent made for aggressive chewers and that you should supervisor your pet during playtime.

This is a perfect toy for a golden retriever whos an aggressive chewer. The rope also serves as a great flossing tool for your dogs teeth as they chew. The cotton strands are safe for your dog and will be easily passed through your dogs digestive system if they are accidentally swallowed.

The rope toy is essentially used to play a game of tug of war with your dog. Its great fun to play this game with your dog, and it also helps them vent their pent-up energy, not to mention that it also gives both you and the dog a great opportunity to exercise and bond.

If youre playing outdoors, this multi-colored rope is easily visible from a distance. When not being used in a game of tug of war, golden retrievers love carrying it around in their mouths.

History Of Golden Retrievers

The most important name in the early history of the Golden Retriever is Dudley Marjoribanks, the first Lord Tweedmouth, who developed the breed in the Scottish Highlands during the reign of Victoria. For the 50 years between 1840 and 1890, Tweedmouth kept scrupulous records of breedings effected to create an ideal gundog for use at his Guisachan estate in the Highlands, Inverness-shire, Scotland. Tweedmouth wanted a dog suited to the rainy climate and rugged terrain of the area, so he crossed his Yellow Retriever with a breed that is now extinct, the Tweed Water Spaniel. Irish Setter and Bloodhound were also added to the mix.

Through several generations of clever breeding, an admiring historian wrote, Tweedmouth created a consistent line of exceptional working retrievers. With a little more refinement after Tweedmouths time, the Golden Retriever came forth as an enduring gift to dogkind from a hunt-happy aristocrat.

The Golden was first seen at a British dog show in 1908, and good specimens of the breed began arriving in America, by way of Canada, at about the same time. Sport hunters appreciated the breeds utility, show fanciers were enthralled by their beauty and dash, and all were impressed by the Goldens sweet, sensible temperament.

The Golden was popular from the beginning of its American history, but the breeds popularity really took off in the 1970s, the era of President Gerald Ford and his beautiful Golden named Liberty.

Ifetch Interactive Ball Launcher

If the ChuckIt wont cut it for your fetch-happy golden, try an automatic ball launcher. No human throwing required! Your golden simply drops a tennis ball into the top, and the iFetch throws the ball 10, 25 or 40 feet away.

Golden retriever owner review:This device is a lifesaver. My service dog LOVES tennis balls, but I cant throw them very far. The iFetch Too has helped him get much more exercise. Ryver often stands directly in front of the thrower but he doesnt seem to mind having the ball pitched right into his face.

Do Golden Retrievers Like Stuffed Animals

Golden Retriever Pup plush animal toy by Aurora

Originally bred to retrieve shot waterfowl such as ducks and upland birds, golden retrievers are used to carry things gently in their mouths. This is probably why most golden retrievers like stuffed toys and can be seen carrying and playing with plush toys.

Goldens have soft mouths that give them the ability to play with their toys, even stuffed toys, gently without damaging them.

Snuggle Puppy Heartbeat Plush Toy

Golden Retriever puppies are very prone to anxiety. In this case, the Snuggle Puppy Heartbeat Plush Toy would be a big help. This plush toy has a realistic pulsing heartbeat, thanks to the heart-shaped device stuffed in the toys belly pouch.

Aside from that, this toy comes with a heat pack to resemble the hug of another pet or person. This will help calm your puppy, especially if youre leaving him alone to go to work.

This toy is safe, easy to use, and does not emit bad odors. The only challenge I see is if your pup is still teething and has chewing problems. Other than that, this would be a comforting toy that you can machine wash after removing the heart device.

Moreover, this has two modes that let you choose between 8-hour and 24-hour running times. Youll also receive AAA batteries in the package, so you can get this toy running straight from the package.

I also like the certified safe materials that wont pose harm to your puppy and children. Remember that the heat pack in the package only lasts for 24 hours and should be disposed of properly. You can purchase any replacement heat packs for a small price.

Pros

  • It comes with a heat pack to mimic body heat
  • It helps relieve anxiety among puppies
