What Is The Average Price Of A Golden Retriever Puppy In Nebraska

Golden Retrievers may be cute, but that cuteness comes at quite a high price. In general, an average Golden Retriever puppy would cost about $1000-$4000, and it should also be the price range of breeders in Nebraska. The price can go lower or higher depending on the offer of the breeder.

Golden Retrievers are pricey because they are popular, and they take quite an effort to breed. They are also expensive because they come with unique features. Aside from their cute and adorable appearance, they also make lovely pets for almost all kinds of people.

Welcome To The Nebraska Rescue Council

Adopt COBY on (With images)

The Nebraska Rescue Council was formed, so that independent, state-licensed, animal shelters and rescues can work together to promote one another, reduce euthanasia and provide information to the public about our organizations. We want to tell you how you can get involved and educate others.

We support responsible, sustainable, social and environmental friendly agriculture practices. Animal shelters and rescue organizations are licensed annually by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture.

In Nebraska, animal rescue volunteers have been, collectively, saving homeless pets from cruelty, neglect, disasters and unnecessary euthanasia for over 30 years. Animal Rescuers are dedicated to helping the animals that are either waiting for a home in foster care or will live out their lives in sanctuary. Often, animal rescue is the only group that can take an animal from a bad situation and provide them with restorative and rehabilitative care.

Meet Golden Retriever Rescue In Nebraska

Lincoln – SCGRR Adoptable!

We at Pets in Omaha thank you for your interest in our communitys rescue organizations! Weve recently had the chance to speak with Barb Garrett of Golden Retriever Rescue in Nebraska and hope you help us help them in providing them with the three things all rescues need: donations, volunteerism and heightened awareness. Meet GRRIN!

Q: What is your organization called and where are you located?

A: We are Golden Retriever Rescue in Nebraska and were located in the Omaha/Lincoln area. We have a PO Box only, no office space .

Q: When, why and by whom was the organization founded?

A: GRRIN was founded in 1992 and is a registered 501 nonprofit organization. In the early 90s, a few reputable local breeders of Golden Retrievers were being contacted about dogs in need of new homes. At the time, there were few private rescues and families had no option but to leave a pet in a shelter. The breeders decided to form a volunteer group to house and re-home Golden Retrievers GRRIN was born!

Q: Are there board members, a president or officers for your group? Who are they and what do they mean to the groups success?

A: GRRIN has always had a board of officers. Currently, there are four officers, seven at-large members and Joe Muller is the president of the organization. All eleven directors play a crucial part in GRRINs success, handling everything from funds to fundraising, rescue to outreach, and membership to managing volunteers.

Former Shelter Dogs Get A Chance To Help Search And Rescue Teams

  • HANA MUSLICLincoln Journal Star

Andrew Pitcher and Chief aid search efforts at natural disasters as part of the Lincoln-based Urban Search and Rescue Nebraska Task Force 1.

A golden retriever puppy rescued and taken to a local animal shelter seven years ago now has the chance to rescue strangers himself.

Chief is one of three K-9s with Nebraska Task Force 1, a Lincoln-based search and rescue team currently serving those affected by Hurricane Harvey in east Texas.

Alongside his four-legged teammates George and Lilly, Chief works with handlers to find people buried beneath the debris or trapped in homes.

The K-9 crew is is part of Search Dog Foundation, a nonprofit that recruits and rescues shelter dogs, then trains them to become search dogs assigned to first responders to deploy to natural disasters, said spokesperson Denise Sanders.

There are currently 14 SDF trained search dogs on the ground in Houston, Texas saving people and pets from dangerous conditions caused by Hurricane Harvey. All are former shelter dogs.

The dogs have “very high energy, an innate sense of drive and laser-like focus,” all characteristics SDF looks for in rescue dogs, Sanders said.

“The same characteristics that would make them bad pets make them fantastic search dogs,” Sanders said. “We have a strict evaluation process to make sure that the dogs we get check all of our boxes. We want dogs that need to work and love to work.”

Dogs train for eight to 10 months at a center in California.

What To Expect From A Golden Retriever Puppy

Although you have your expectations, its best to take note of the following. It will help you prepare for your pet, especially in the first few days of living together.

As you allow your pet to adjust, do your best to create a stress-free environment for it. Always supervise it as it familiarizes itself with its new home.

At the same time, prepare yourself for your pets habits in the first weeks:

Noisy Sleeping

Snoring is common in Golden Retrievers, so prepare yourself for loud noises when your pet is asleep. It can even grow louder as they age.

Moderate Training

Golden Retrievers responds well, especially to positive reinforcement. Thus, they dont need too much effort in training.

Squeaky Toys

Out of all toys, your pet will love the squeaky ones. For this reason, prepare for a lot of loud squeaks every time your pet is active.

Goldens In Foster Care

Update: Due to an increase in adoption applications GRRIN received in September, October and November, we will not be taking any new applications until January 15, 2022. During the next eight weeks, we will work to catch up on conducting home visits for families who already applied this year.

We will still accept applications to foster please call our Goldline at 402-330-6680 for more information and to start the process.

We appreciate that many wonderful families would like to rescue a GRRIN dog, however the reality is that we will not have enough dogs for everyone. We enjoy highlighting each rescue dog on this web page and taking those that are comfortable to meet and greets so that the public can see the amazing work our all-volunteer organization can accomplish. We know our rescue dogs touch many hearts, and your patience throughout the adoption process is highly valued by volunteers who give their free time to GRRIN. Thank you for your support!

We encourage you to become familiar with our group via social events check out our calendar all friendly dogs are welcome!

We do not have an online application please learn more about our adoption requirements by clicking on the links below, then leave a message on our Goldline. A volunteer will return your call. Be prepared to spend at least 30 minutes to answer questions.
