Henderson is just across the river from Evansville Indiana. They are about 2.5 hours from Louisville, Kentucky about 4.5 hours from Indianapolis, Indiana 2.5 hours from Nashville, Tennessee and about 8 hours from Chicago, Illinois.

Roger GoldWynn will sometimes deliver pups back to the Dallas Fort Worth, Texas area, as well as Waco, Texas.

In 2012, the Wynns entered two of their dogs in Hutto, Texas, to the annual Lone Star Sieger Show. Two of their dogs won International and National Junior CH titles and another won three BOB in the Junior Class.

Caring For A Golden Retriever Puppy

Golden Retriever puppies from good breeders do not leave for new homes until they are 2 months old. Although by this age Goldens babies are already quite independent, they miss their mother and at first, may whine and refuse food. Therefore, in the early days, pets really need the attention and care of their owners.

To avoid digestive problems, puppies should first be fed what they ate at the breeder. And it is better to introduce all new products gradually and in small quantities. At 2 months, golden retrievers should receive food 5-6 times a day, and when they reach 1 year they are transferred to double feeding.

Important! Until the golden puppy has received all the vaccinations, it cannot be taken out for walks. Therefore, before the end of the post-vaccination quarantine in the house, it is better to remove the carpets and cover the floor with disposable floor pads.

About Me

Golden retrievers have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. They were considered the “family” dog, but I took on the responsibility of training and caring for each one. It wasn’t until I was fourteen that I asked for a golden retriever of my own… that’s when I got Sport, the first golden that I could call mine. He was not a show dog, however it was because of him that the next golden I purchased, Riley, was a young show prospect. Although I can’t imagine a time in my life without a golden, I have only been showing and breeding for about 12 years. I am a member in good standing with the Golden Retriever Club of America and adhere to the GRCA Code of Ethics. The Lord has blessed me immensely with a large family who support my enthusiasm for dog shows. I would never be able to do any of this without them.

Our larger Comfort Retrievers® are generally from a Golden Retriever bred to a Comfort Retriever®. They generally have more Golden Retriever in them, so they are a closer carbon copy than the smaller Comforts. Their parents average weight is 45 pounds or larger.

The smaller Comfort Retrievers® are generally from a breeding of two Comfort Retrievers®. They generally have a little more poodle, so they may have more hypoallergenic and reduced shedding traits. Their parents average weight is typically below 40 pounds.

Local Nonprofit Rescues 10 Golden Retrievers Now Looking For New Home

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A Louisville nonprofit dog rescue recently took in 10 Golden Retrievers from a retiring breeder.

The dogs are all in search of a new home.

Its the largest intake of dogs GRRAND has ever had. GRRAND stands for Golden Retrievers Rescue and Adoption of Needy Dogs. The nonprofit provides a happy life in the meantime, but its a family the team is looking for.

The 10 pups have spent their whole lives on a farm, but the breeder who raised them could no longer take care of them when she became ill.

She knew wed find them great families, said GRRAND President Nina Scott.

Scott said the dogs were well taken care of by the breeder, but they need to go somewhere where their sole role in life will be as a family member and not as means to production.

The dogs in range from six months to just over a year old. Some are pure goldens others and others are mixed with Great Pyrenees.

GRRANDs goal now is to keep the pups happy and healthy until they can get them into a new home and ultimately keep them there.

Every dog that comes to us, we determine, what would be the best for that particular dog, said Scott. Our goal is that dog does not come back to us.
