With a Golden Retriever rescue in every state and more than 80 Golden Retriever rescues in the U.S., we saw a great need to help the thousands of Goldens that are killed each year in overseas countries from the horrific dog meat trade.

We are exclusively an international rescue and we rely on both passenger and cargo flights to safely transport our rescued Goldens home to America. We are a 5013 nonprofit run entirely on donations and 100% by volunteers. We are a foster based rescue with no physical location and no paid staff. We are a platinum member on GuideStar for our transparency.

We are a passionate, dedicated, all-volunteer rescue. Each year we take in 100-200 Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes, and give them a second chance for a happy life. We pride ourselves in never turning away any dog that needs us no matter what their age or medical condition may be. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Whether its opening up your home to foster a dog waiting for a forever home, transporting a dog to a new home or a vet appointment, or wrapping gifts for us at Christmasno gesture or donation is too small! Regular bathing keeps your pet`s skin healthy and his coat clean and shiny. It also helps to remove loose hair and your pet smells fresh. Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you’ll have a friend for life.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Ear Cleaning / Plucking

The ears of a dog are very sensitive and susceptible to infection, excessive wax buildup and parasite infestation. A gentle cleaning with the proper products will eliminate most problems, but if constant itching, scratching or odor persists, you should see a veterinarian.

Our caring professionals offer several packages that include ear cleaning/plucking, as well as the stand alone service. As a drop-in or by appointment, this stand alone service can usually be performed in less than 30 minutes.

One way is to join your local Facebook groups.

Sometimes someone will need to give up their golden retriever due to an unfortunate family or life circumstance.

Its usually not that theyre a bad dog, but maybe theres a financial issue, allergy issue, or their kids dont get along with the dog.

Theyll want to give their golden to a loving home, so theyll post in the group about finding a good home for their golden.

And theres your opportunity to swoop in and offer your loving home!

Golden Huggs Rescue, Inc. is a 5013 non-profit corporation. Often our adoption fees do not cover all of the fees for the rescue, foster care, vetting and transportation costs to bring our pups from our rescue partners in the south to the forever homes in New England. We gladly accept donations to keep our all-volunteer organization running.

Golden Huggs Rescue Inc

Golden Huggs Rescue is made up of a very small group of volunteers who have made it our mission to find loving suitable homes for displaced, abandoned, or stray dogs with golden personalities with our partners outside of New England.

Our dogs have either been relinquished by their owners, found as strays, or abandoned at the shelter door. It is irrelevant to us how they have managed to find themselves in these circumstances. It is only in their best interest that we try in earnest to get them out.

All of our volunteers have been involved in the rescue and placing of dogs for years. We are committed to doing our part to decrease the numbers of dogs that are euthanized at primarily southern shelters.
