We understand that not everyone wants a young, baby puppy. For this reason we try to keep a puppy from each litter to train and sell as an older, trained puppy.
Our trained puppies are usually anywhere from 10 to 16 weeks old. They are crate/schedule trained. When asked they will sit, down, stay and come when called. Our puppies go home with an introduction to basic obedience and a great foundation to build upon.
These puppies come with two to four sets of shots, depending on their age. They are kennel club registered, vet checked, microchipped and wormed multiple times. And they come with a health guarantee.

English Cream Golden Retriever Trained Puppies For Sale
We work with each of our trained puppies on the following commands: Sit, Down, On, Off, Right Here, Kennel, Lets Go, and This Way to build a foundation for becoming a trained puppy. We work on walking nicely on a leash, providing us with a loose leash, spending time in the crate, and socialization and introduction to strange objects like boxes, trash cans, umbrellas, etc.

Who Trains The Puppies
I do the initial obedience training myself . Jenna is a professional dog trainer and shares Karens positive reinforcement training philosophy.
We also have a team who help keep things running smoothly. Our team works with puppies on potty training, socializing, and obedience skills already trained. In the past our team has consisted of three high schoolers that all worked for us for over three years. However, starting with our 2020 litters, two of the three have moved off to college.
BUT, we are so happy to have our two daughters who are now in their 20s working with us again during 2020. One daughter, Jenna, has been an incredible trainer for many years. She will be making Summer Brook puppies her priority.
The other, Elise, is a socialization superstar and will be taking off college for the winter and spring to work full time with Summer Brook.
We also have a good many friends and contacts that visit puppies. Our goal is to make sure that puppies have a wide variety of ages and types of people to interact with.

Trained Golden Retriever Puppies: Training Philosophy
No Painful Corrections
We do not use painful corrections with these young puppies. Instead, we divert their attention from undesirable habits. We provide them plenty of exercise. We control their environment so that they have no choice but to behave themselves. They learn quickly that if they want attention, they must behave on our terms. This method of training works far better than punishment based training. However, it takes time for bad behaviors to extinguish themselves. By 10-11 weeks of age, hardly any of our puppies mouth us. Jumping is minimal when one-on-one with individual puppies. However, at this young age, they are still figuring out what is acceptable and what is not. Controlled Environment to Set Puppies Up For Success
We provide a very controlled environment. This sets these young puppies up for success rather than giving them all sorts of temptations. We dont want there to be temptations calling for punishments. Its not fair. Further, it doesnt work as well as our method. Our philosophy of training embraces the idea of not adding difficulty to an exercise or temptations for bad behavior until habits of good behavior are firmly established.

Pricing And Pick Up Options
The price for the training for our three training programs is on our puppy questionnaire. The price of puppies is due when puppies are 5 weeks of age . Training fees must be received by us at least two weeks before puppies are picked up or they must be paid by cash or certified funds.
There will be an additional charge if your puppy needs a health certificate. See our Payments and Policies page for more information. As of the end of June 2022, to our knowledge no airline requires a health certificate for in-cabin flights. Delta required a health certificate for in-cabin travel for a part of 2018. However, they have now reversed that policy and no longer require one. Keep in mind, though, that airline requirements are changing daily. Please consult your own airline. Make sure that whoever you are speaking with understands that you are asking about in-cabin travel. All airlines require health certificates for travel underneath. We dont see our puppies off that way. They must travel with their families in the cabin.
Trust the answers you get online. They are the official answers. MANY employees giving out information over the phone are unfamiliar with pet policies. Call and get one answer from one employee. Hang up and call again and chances are good youll get a different answer from a different employee.
Golden Retrievers Exercise Needed
Golden Retrievers are considered to be a large breed dog that need a lot of exercise, at least a couple of hours daily. However, as with any Dog supplied by WKD we are able to select an individual Dog to match your lifestyle and exercising ability. Within any breed there will be Dogs requiring next to no walking right the way through to highly strung Dogs which require hours on end. Please do not trust a general opinion, at WKD we really do tailor the selection of your new Golden Retriever to ensure the perfect fit in every area of life.

You may be able to train a puppy yourself and do a very good job. I know many people are experienced with dogs and know what it takes to raise a good dog, but there are many people who are getting a dog for the first time or who are getting a dog during a busy time of life. Am I able to calmly stay consistent over a period of time until the puppy knows exactly what I want?

Listed below is what we work on with these puppies. No puppy can be fully trained and dependable in any area until they are close to a year old. This program is just a start. However, it is a very good start for trained English Golden Retriever puppies who are only 10 to 12 1/2 weeks old.
1. House Training
We take away all indoor litter areas before puppies are 6 weeks old. Starting the week prior, we work heavily with them making sure that all of them are doing all of their business outside. We make use a doggy door for this initial training. Although most people dont have a doggy door, what we do in utilizing the door sets puppies up for success when the doggy door is taken away.
Weve found that puppies that are fluent with a doggy door and doing their business outside are highly motivated to get outside when they have to pee or poop. In fact, we believe that initial training done with a doggy door is better. Traditional house training depends on a persons getting a puppy out often enough. A doggy door is a fantastic tool for initial house training. We dont keep our puppies dependent on it. Rather, we gradually move toward puppies being house trained without it. I currently have a seven month old female available that will be finished with her on and off leash training program in May 2022, . Molly has been raised in my home with children, indoor cats, and other dogs. She loves children, gets along well with other dogs of all temperaments and is gentle with our cats. We have been growing out two males with the intention of keeping one of the two boys to carry on Armanis lineage in a future stud dog. We have now made our decision of which of the two boys we should keep for ourselves. This means that we have one male puppy ready for his forever home. Photos provided in the photo gallery below. This beautiful boy Argus is crate trained, sleeping through the night, been meeting lots of clients checking in for dog boarding, had a few trips to town for socialization, a few car rides, and has been entirely house raised from birth.
Our own Armani has been a solid producer for us, so this breeding to our own Aggie is especially exciting. Armani is 11 years old, and continues to be athletic, healthy and young at heart.
