Daisya Home For Me Yes Please
She was found by a Good Samaritan in a dog-dumping area in San Antonio. Daisy was under weight and ran up to everyone she saw for pets and food. After several weeks of not finding her owner, the Good Samaritan contacted GRR and asked if we could help this sweet, young dog that thrives on human attention and enjoys playing with other dogs. While we estimate Daisy to be about a year old, she is quite calm for a young dog. Daisy truly is a sweet girl who thrives on her humans. Golden Retriever Club Of Greater Los Angeles Rescue
The Golden Retriever Club of Greater Los Angeles Rescue is one of the oldest golden retriever rescues in southern California. This rescue serves six southern California counties including Riverside, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, San Diego, Orange, and Ventura.
The GRCGLARs team is made up of volunteers who have many years of experience with the golden retriever breed in varying capacities.
While the Golden Retriever Club of Greater Los Angeles Rescue is ready to help any golden retriever in need, they are particularly committed to helping sick, injured, and senior goldens.
If you are interested in adopting from this rescue, youll need to fill out an online adoption application and submit it with a $25 donation. It will likely take around 7 to 10 days for the rescue staff to contact you and schedule a home visit. After a successful home visit, the rescue staff will do their best to match you with the perfect dog for your family.
Its worth noting that this rescue doesnt adopt to homes with children under the age of seven! If you have younger kids, you might want to wait until they get a bit older, consider adopting a dog from another rescue, or simply purchase a dog from a breeder.

When Should I Adopt My Golden Retriever
Most golden retriever rescues advise families to wait until their children are at least 7 years old before they consider adopting a golden retriever. In fact, many rescues wont adopt their dogs to families with younger children. An exception can be made only if you, the parent, have experience owning a large sporting dog.
If you dont have children yet but plan to have them in the near future, think long and hard about whether adopting a dog now is a good decision. If you meet all the other criteria for adoption, you have a better chance of adopting a puppy or adult golden retriever as a single or couple without children.

How Grr Prepares Dogs For Adoption
- Note on medical issues while in foster care:
- Gold Ribbon Rescue strives to ensure that any of our foster dogs receive proper medical care. This includes, as needed, vaccinations, heartworm treatment, treatment for intestinal parasites, and any surgeries for known and existing conditions while the foster is in our care.
- While we would like to be able to perform extensive medical tests on every dog, we have only the capacity to do so when a medical condition is obvious while the dog is in our foster care program. Medical testing such as heart, hip, eye, kidney and liver assessments on what appear to be healthy dogs is not within the financial capacity of any rescue group.
- When we adopt our rescue dogs, we do our utmost to understand and share with our adopters any known medical conditions that one of our fosters has been treated for and which may present as a limitation post-adoption. For example: we may have a senior with obvious hip dysplasia, but total hip replacement surgery isn’t reasonable due to the dog’s age.

As restrictions continue to ease, please bepatient as we continue with mask-wearing encounters and preferably outdoors home visits when a dog comes available.
