We at Summer Brook Golden Retrievers breed and train what is commonly referred to in the U.S. as English Cream Golden Retrievers. We are English Golden Retriever breeders who strive to produce only the very best representatives of the breed with regard to health, temperament, and appearance. All of our adult dogs are titled in obedience. Our older adult dogs are titled in conformation as well. Weve health tested all our dogs and received good to excellent results. After health, our primary focus is producing puppies with good temperaments. Then we put those genetically sound puppies through a puppy raising program that cant be beat.

Wisteria Goldens English Cream Golden Retriever Puppies
Here at Wisteria Goldens we start all our English Cream Golden Retriever puppies on a routine to give them a great foundational start for continued training.
Our English Golden puppies that are 8 weeks and younger have a schedule which includes feeding, playtime, and snuggles & cuddles time. They are introduced to crate training and should be able to spend most of the night in the crate within the first week after acclimating to their new home. *Please note, puppies are not sleeping all night in the crate, unless in our training program. Our English Golden puppies that are over 8 weeks of age continue their training by entering our Puppy Academy Program.
Puppy coats range from pure cream to a touch of gold, all the way to having gold dusting throughout their coat. They are friendly, affectionate, intelligent, and have a wonderful calm, mellow personalities. Our English Cream puppies come in a variety of sizes, build, and color something for everyone! We believe in finding that perfect puppy for you!
All our adults come from Champion and/or International Champion bloodlines. We carefully chose our dogs we started our breeding program with and imported many of our adults to be able to provide the best quality puppy for families. We now raise our own females and import all our males to keep our lines clean.

Parents With Conformation And Performance Titles
Thirdly, weve successfully shown our dogs parents in three venues: conformation, obedience, and rally. We have earned titles at highly competitive levels in all three. You can also learn which titles you can earn in a weekend of shows with any mediocre dog.
We have done well with our older dogs in the conformation ring earning a wide variety of impressive titles. However, for our younger dogs, we have decided to concentrate our efforts in the obedience ring. We prioritize temperament and health over looks. However, all of our dogs are still beautiful and they come from long lines of conformation champions.
About Our English Cream Golden Retriever Puppies
Red-Dawn is an AKC Breeder Of Merit Kennel, since 2003. Coming up! We have a spring litter in the works. We again bred Snowflake and Brady for a 2020 Spring litter. Their 2019 litter was a big hit and the litter turned out fantastic. Many puppies are in training to be a Service Dogs. The puppies parents, Brady & Snowflake are AKC registered English Cream Golden Retrievers. Both parents are conformation champions. Brady also won BEST IN SHOW and Snowflake won RESERVE BEST IN SHOW. We take great pride that all our dogs are OFA certified for Hips, Elbows, Patella, Heart and Eyes. All Red-Dawn parent dogs are fully DNA tested as well.

We are near Dallas TX, located about one hour north of town. Red-Dawn is a private home on 10 acres near McKinney, Texas. It is a about a 4 hour drive from Austin, Texas. As well as it is a 5 hour drive from Houston, Texas.

Your Goldens Look Amazing Can We Visit Them And Your Puppies
Thank you to those who want to visit our home. We work hard to create an environment that works for us, our pups and adults. You may have read that a good breeder will allow you into their home/facility. Years ago, we did this and entertained visitors regularly throughout the puppies upbringing. After countless lectures by my vet about the dangers of allowing visitors in my home with young pups, we finally took his advice and stopped allowing visitors until the pups have received their first vaccination. If we have no puppies at the time you want to visit, we are happy for you to come meet the parents of the litter you may be interested in.
To help you stay connected with the puppies journey from birth to going to your home, every litter has a closed facebook group that I update with pics, videos and updates until they are ready for you to visit. Additionally, we do this so that you see whats going on without compromising our bio-security for our puppies and our pack. But please, we ask you to honor our program by respecting our policy.
Do You Breed Back To Back Or Skip Heat Cycles
We have changed our breeding policy on whether to breed back to back or every other heat. There have been several studies done on what is healthier for a breeding female and the results of these studies conclusively show that it is healthier for a female to be bred every heat instead of every other heat. The majority opinion amongst both veterinarians as well as canine repro specialists is conclusively, that this is the healthiest option. While we do breed every heat, we never breed before 2, so the female has time for proper development and health certifications. We do not believe that because you breed every heat that you should continue to breed as long as those that dont breed every heat, which means that our breeding females retire earlier than those breeders that breed every other heat. Our girls are usually retired by 5 years old and spayed. This way they are breeding in their prime when it is healthier and safer for dam and puppies. I like to think of it like us having our kids in our 20-30s instead of spreading it out from our 20s-50s. While it is healthier to breed every heat we also think that breeders need to use common sense and make sure that their females are back to a healthy weight before breeding again, as well as, judging on a case by case knowing what is right for your female and her health.

Other Names For White Golden Retrievers
You may have heard the names White Golden Retrievers, and English Cream Golden Retrievers used interchangeably. Thats because theyre different names for the same breed. Our English Cream Golden Retrievers have a beautiful white or cream-colored coat that make them stand out from other Golden Retrievers. While some Golden Retrievers may have a lighter coloring, English Cream Golden Retrievers are specifically bred to have a white coat but have the same features you love about Golden Retrievers.
Are You A Kennel
We are not a kennel. These Goldens are our pets. We play with and love them daily. They have a lot of room to run and play a lot of the day outside, but also like to hang out on our 500 sq ft porch and in the house. My rule for the dogs is the same as our kids: If you want to play and rough house, then go outside. Since our house isnt massive, usually, when we have guests over I send our goldens and our girls outside to play.

Are Your Dogs Akc Registered Do You Offer Full Registration
All of our puppies are AKC registerable and they automatically come with limited registration. Limited registration gives you all the rights of AKC registration, but it makes any litters/puppies the dog would have unregisterable. This is our way of not having to have spay/neuter contracts with our homes. We offer full registration to approved individuals for an additional fee.

Characteristics Of White Golden Retrievers
English Cream Golden Retrievers are known for their highly relaxed, ultra-mellow temperaments. These dogs are intelligent, loving, playful and incredibly loyal, which makes them the perfect pet to own from puppyhood. Many people desire the quality European bloodlines associated with the White Golden breed, which guarantee the highest pedigree for dog shows and future breeding. In fact, White Golden Retrievers are often bred for three main reasons: their unmatched temperament, their outstanding health, and their sturdy structures. White Goldens also sport glossy light-colored, cream-colored coats, and generally grow healthy and strong. All Goldens have at least some Golden color in their coats, even the whitest cream colored Golden still have gold highlights running throughout their coats. Hence the term Cream is a much more appropriate description than White.
This breed loves to be active and offers a beautiful light-colored coat of hair that stands out against other breeds. A White Golden Retriever puppy is a team player and behaves well with everyone. Our fully trained White Golden Retriever puppies understand behaviors that are right and wrong. Fully trained puppies are introduced to other dogs and groups of people, but theyll still require a leash. These puppies from Golden Meadows Retrievers have the following abilities:

- Maintaining potty-trained nature
- Showing comfort in a crate due to crate training

What Breed Is This Is This A Different Breed Than Golden Retrievers
These are golden retrievers. They are not a separate breed than the more golden colored retrievers you see. In fact, just because ours are lighter colored doesnt necessarily in itself make them English Goldens. Many European Goldens can also have darker coloring. The difference you see in English Goldens, should be, in fact that they are bred to FCI/EUROPEAN standards, which allows for a lighter color than the AKC standards. Also, they tend to have shorter legs and a stockier build than most American bred/standard Goldens. At Texas Rose, we strive to stay true to the european standards. Most of our goldens are directly imported from Europe and have won a show title ensuring us that they are to the European show standard. There is also research that suggests that European/English Goldens have less cancer and longer life expectancy.

Where Are Your Puppies Raised
The puppies spend the first 2 weeks in our bedroom, beside my bed so I can check on them through the night. They are then moved to the playroom from weeks 2-4. From week 4-8, they are moved to our upstairs, where they have around 150 sq ft of space to run and play and start their crate training. They are inside their entire lives until they come to you. I am working on setting up a turf grass play area outside, so they can have the benefits of being outside without the risks.

History Of The White Golden Retriever
It is well known that the Golden breeds have roots in Europe and Scotland as far back as the late 1860s. Goldens were originally breed by a British Aristocrat, Lord Tweedmouth, who mixed a yellow-colored Retriever with a Tweed Water Spaniel. Today, the Tweed Water Spaniel breed is extinct, but they were previously known for being enthusiastic retrievers used for hunting and calm, loyal dogs in the home. Their descendants continue to hold these characteristics. Though this cross breeding is where the Golden Retriever originated, there are now various colors of Retrievers that stem from this common ancestor.
White Golden Retrievers are the perfect dog for families and make the perfect family pet. Their calm temperament and sweet disposition mixed with their intelligence and loyal nature prove to be a combination that is easy to love.
