How It All Got Started
Daisy was my 1st Golden & began me on the road to becoming a hobbiest / breeder. She was my initial introduction to the European Golden.
It has taken several years to acquire knowledge about the European Golden. The European Golden was evolved between the Water Spaniel and the Newfoundland.
At the Guisachan House, the home of Lord Tweedmouth, in the ruggedly beautiful county of Inverness in the north Scottish highlands, it was here the first Yellow Retrievers were bred and raised. Lord Tweedmouth carefully worked out a plan to make a yellow retriever breed. It was between Lord Tweedmouths yellow Retriever, only one, Nous in Brighton in 1865. He is said to have told his grandson it was a sport in a litter of blacks, and Nous is recorded as bred by the Earl of Chichester.
Two years after Nous arrival, he was bred with Mr. David Robertsons Tweed Water Spaniel named Belle. Lord Tweedmouth gave many puppies he bred to friends, others were put out with keepers and bred from, so that the yellow Retrievers in the hands of gundog men, at that time seldom interested in pedigrees but only in how their dogs worked, would have been crossed with black Retrievers or with Setters, without compunction.
Whatever did happen, Lord Tweedmouths systematic yellow line-breeding in Scotland laid the the firm foundation of the Golden Retriever as a breed.

Our deposits are $250 to hold your puppy and goes toward your total. We have a real business so we do things professionally.
How do you pick your puppy?
We temperament test our puppies and observe them since birth. We are professionals at matching puppies with families lifestyles, but the choice is ultimately yours, which puppy you get. Our Golden Retriever puppy pick-outs are at around 6 weeks. We allow you to choose out of a group of puppies depending on your pick spot. Our out-of-state buyers usually use Facetime or Facebook to pick their puppies out with live video. You’ll see weekly videos and pictures of the puppies as they grow, so you it will be an informed decision for you to choose when it’s your turn. We will share with you their temperaments, sizes and builds, so you get a great match. You are also welcome to visit the farm and pick your puppy out in person. Most of our buyers reserved to visit once when they pick their puppy up at 8 weeks.

We are located on an old farm c.1776 in North Shirley, Central Massachusetts. We breed Golden Retrievers to produce puppies that are beautiful, healthy and loving family pets. Our dogs are part of the family and enjoy the comfort of home as we do. We have been breeding Goldens since 1994 and have produced only a few selected litters, using highly qualified sires and dams with championship pedigrees. We work closely with some of the best professional breeders in the northeast U.S., using dogs that are clear of any hip displasia, eye problems and heart disease. The puppies are very well socialized and enjoy the puppy playground that we continue to vary as they age and their personalities develop. Our puppies are known for their incredibly gentle temperament and intelligence. We also enjoy maintaining contact with their families to watch in their development.
