Our family kennel has about one litter every year or every other year depending on our schedules. We are certainly NOT a puppy mill.
After the birth of our English Cream, Golden Retriever puppies, each is weighed and monitored daily. We want each puppy to thrive and develop properly. Close attention is paid to the diet and the health of the mother. She is attended to several times a day.
We keep strict progress records and consistently compare the progress of the puppies with standards of compiled average data. We want the pups to grow, but not too fast, as complications in larger dogs are often the result of overfeeding or overly rigorous exercise. As far as how popular each color is, we did a study and asked 600 golden retriever owners what color their dog is.

English Golden Retriever Breed Standards Are Different Than American Breed Standards
Weve already talked about how a golden retriever is a golden retriever, and how they got the name English Cream, but heres another chapter in that story.
The breed standards are different in the UK and in America.
In America, the breed standard for males is 23-24 inches tall at the withers and 21.5-22.5 inches for females.
In the UK, the breed standard is 22-24 inches tall for males and 20-22 inches tall for females.
So the UK is more accepting of shorter goldens, which is one of the common traits of English type goldens.

English Cream Golden Retriever Puppies
Its always an exciting time at Hill Haven Kennel when there is a new litter on the way. Our family kennel only has a limited number of litters , so our beautiful English Cream Golden Retriever puppies are usually spoken for well in advance.
We recommend anyone interested in a puppy to contact us ASAP to submit an application and get put on our reservation list.
Once born, each puppy receives a distinctive color of yarn around the neck area so we can easily monitor their progress. We also keep journals with all the information we can obtain on each puppy, so this information can be given to our future buyer. We want our future buyers to know everything there is to know about their future companion.
The distinctive personality of each puppy and their general overall manner is also recorded. Everyone in our family participates in helping with the work that it takes to do this. Although, we do have a large kennel on the estate complete with bathing/grooming facility, outdoor covered grass runs, temperature-controlled, and a kitchen and laundry facility we still raise the pups inside our family home.
We keep the litter in a large whelping box complete with a play area off of our kitchen. This enclosure has access to outside, creating a natural, normal progression to potty training.
Our English Cream Golden Retriever puppies are treated with the utmost care after all, they are our pets/family before they become yours!

English Cream Golden Retrievers Are Not White
English Cream goldens come in a variety of colors, although most are on the lighter side of the spectrum.
Theyre typically cream or a light shade of gold, but not actually white, like a samoyed.
And heres another interesting fact here: within the same litter, there may be different shades of gold and cream, with some puppies being lighter and some being darker.
